My Husband's indomitable spirit at work bagged him one of the most prestigious awards in his organisation which was accompanied by a trip to Europe. But the fulfillment of his long cherished dream did not make him happy as I could not accompany him. That's why he captured almost every moment and sight so that I could explore Europe through his eyes.
His trip started with a visit to the snow paradise, Switzerland. After landing in Switzerland's cultural and business hub,Zurich, they were transferred by deluxe coach to their chalet styled hotel named Bankliap overlooking the scenic Engelberg village and snow clapped mountains. Here is a video that he took from his hotel room's balcony.
The real holiday was yet to begin. As he stepped into the world famous 360 degrees revolving cable car that took him to 10,000 feet in the mountains to Mount Titlis, the glacier paradise mesmerized him.It was a clear day and the Eiger,Monch and Jungfrau peaks were clearly visible. His video at the Mount Titlis is sure to tickle your nerves.
The well lit ice caves took him through a 150-meter long tunnel down to 20-meter under the glacier's surface where a unique world unfolded in front of him.But as he was there in July,he missed the fun of most of the snow sports.
If you are a snow sports enthusiast, plan your trip between October until end of May when the glacier paradise is perfect for abundant snow sports like toboggan run, snowboarding, hiking, skiing, rides on snow tubes, snow snakes, balancers, scooters and sledges on the snow which is sure to make your adrenaline rush high.Numerous restaurants serving various international gourmet are also available.
Their next stop was the old town of Lucerne. The main attractions here were the Lake Lucerne with one of the city's most remarkable landmark, the Chapel Bridge,a 600 old landmark which is a wooden bridge across the Reuss River that was destroyed in a fire in 1993,but,was quickly rebuilt. There are numerous souvenir shops line alongside the lake.
The other sights seen were the Spreuer Bridge also referred to as the Mill Bridge that has a series of paintings by the artist Caspar Meglinger, the Town Hall, Jesuit Church, Picasso Museum, Congress Hall, the Lion Monument which is dedicated to the heroic soldiers of Switzerland who died during the French revolution of 1792 and the Transport Museum.
Though I couldn't accompany my husband in his maiden trip to Europe, his narrations and videos have unfolded Europe to me in such way that like no other native guide could have done. If you are enjoying exploring Europe with me,then,do come back for my upcoming posts when I shall be exploring the City of Parks,Geneva, the most romantic city-Paris,the chocolate capital of the world-Brussels, and take a canal cruise in Holland and an insight into English history in London through my husband's eyes besides providing you detailed tips on packing for your winter destination.
